Using EtherCAT Safety Components    

With FailSafe over EtherCAT (FSoE) it is possible to use safety components directly within the EtherCAT topology. Master - slaves relations can be set up between logic slaves and IO slaves. These communicate within the EtherCAT system.

This concept allows a cost effective integration of safety components, without the need to integrate further interfaces.

The use of TwinSafe components from Beckhoff is also possible with the EtherCAT Acquisition Library. The EtherCAT Topology and the TwinSafe logic has to be configured in TwinCAT. The EtherCAT system can then be used with the exported ENI file.
